Every year, United Way Miami launches its annual community fundraising campaign, inviting corporate partners and their employees as well as the community at large to contribute to the organization’s mission of building a stronger Miami.

The campaign, titled “Without you, we can’t help those in need,” shares insightful information about how many families in Miami are struggling to afford the basic costs of living and outlines how far your donation goes when contributing to United Way.

Funds raised from the campaign are the driving force that allows the organization to respond to the community’s most complex needs — including sustaining a portfolio of direct services as well as financial support for over 100 programs and initiatives focused on improving equitable access to quality education, financial security and health for vulnerable residents in the Miami-Dade community.

Each year, the organization elects leaders in the community to act as co-chairs of the campaign — passionate fundraisers who are longstanding supporters of United Way Miami to help spread the campaign’s message throughout the community. This year, Felipe Basulto (TD Bank), Cristian LaCapra (Northern Trust) and Ana VeigaMilton (The José Milton Foundation) have been appointed as co-chairs.

In addition to the campaign co-chairs, a group of volunteers and community leaders have been named to lead the organization’s giving communities throughout annual campaign.

They will work closely with staff and members of United Way’s giving communities to engage and inspire business, government, labor unions, nonprofits and everyday citizens to build a better and stronger Miami.

“Our annual campaign at United Way Miami is a key component in helping us impact our community. We are incredibly grateful to our co-chairs Felipe, Cristian and Ana, our campaign cabinet and dedicated employees in driving our annual campaign throughout the community,” said Symeria Hudson, president and CEO at United Way Miami.
