The Alper JCC 40-plus 4.0 Men’s Team scored a victory at USTA League’s 2015 Sectional Championships on July 12.
The team’s most recent match preceding the victory took place at Daytona Beach against Broward County. It was a hard-fought battle with four third-set tiebreakers, and the deciding match (No. 1 singles) lasted slightly over three hours, from around noon to 3:17 p.m. in the summer heat. At the end, the JCC’s team triumphed with a score of 3-2.
“I have believed in you all, all season and at sections, and you have constantly rewarded me for my faith in you. You are truly champions,” Glen Thomas, the team’s captain, said in an email to the rest of the team.
