West Kendall Baptist Hospital brings Halloween to schools
Students display the candy distributed by representatives of West Kendall Baptist Hospital.

Instead of hosting its annual Halloween gathering, which typically draws a crowd of about 5,000-10,000 West Kendall residents, Baptist Health’s West Kendall Baptist Hospital, and the West Kendall Community Business Partners, decided to bring Halloween to 15,000 children across 34 local elementary schools this year.

In light of the COVID-19 pandemic and recent surges, and in effort to give back to the community, the West Kendall Baptist Hospital team prepared individual bags of candy for children, as well as a separate package with information and coupons for parents. Goodies were distributed to schools around South Florida over the course of three days, Oct. 25-27.

The purpose of the Halloween candy delivery was to keep children and families in the community safe during the week of Halloween. The activation allowed children to enjoy the excitement of the holiday while avoiding potential germs. Baptist Health South Florida continues to encourage the community to follow CDC guidelines this holiday season.
