Westwind Lakes Park added to free public WiFi locations

Westwind Lakes Park, 6805 SW 152 Ave., is the latest West End park to offer visitors free WiFi as part of Miami-Dade County Commissioner Juan C. Zapata’s efforts to expand the free service in his district.

“Westwind Lakes Park is a very popular park for all ages, and now residents who go there to utilize the senior center or skate park will also be able to take advantage of the free WiFi,” Commissioner Zapata said.

Two other West End parks — Hammocks Community Park and Olympic Park — became equipped with free WiFi earlier this year. West End Regional Library and Kendale Lakes Branch Library, which are adjacent to the two parks, also recently received free WiFi.

Orange “Free WiFI” signs featuring the heart-shaped West End logo appear at all the locations. The design was chosen by residents from among several options posted on Commissioner Zapata’s Facebook page and online newsletter.
