Whispering Manes Therapeutic Riding Center, a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization dedicated to providing therapeutic horseback riding and horsemanship classes for individuals with physical, cognitive, and emotional disabilities, has announced the appointment of John Harris as an Advisory Board member.
Located in Miami-Dade County, Whispering Manes offers safe and supervised equine-assisted activities designed to promote physical, cognitive, and emotional well-being for participants. The organization’s mission is to serve a community that might not otherwise have access to these transformative experiences.
With the guidance of PATH-certified professionals and the partnership of specialized horses, participants engage in both mounted and unmounted activities that foster improvements in core strength, balance, motor skills, and communication, as well as a sense of self-esteem and accomplishment through the unique human-horse connection.
Harris, a financial expert and community leader, brings over 35 years of wealth and investment management experience to the Whispering Manes Advisory Board. As managing director and chief wealth advisor at Coral Gables Trust, Harris’ collaborative, value-based approach to his profession aligns with the center’s dedication to fostering positive, life-changing relationships.
Harris’ extensive leadership includes roles as senior vice president, private banking manager, and senior lender with Northern Trust Bank, as well as county wide group manager at SunTrust Bank. His dedication to philanthropy and community service is evident in his involvement with numerous organizations, including the Coral Gables Community Foundation, University of Miami Citizens Board, and United Way of Miami-Dade County.

Harris also serves on the boards of the Miami Chapter of the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners, Miami Financial Planning Association, and Coral Gables Community Foundation. He has previously held leadership roles as president of both the Miami and Broward Estate Planning Councils and continues to be a trusted voice in financial planning, contributing to publications such as Forbes, The Miami Herald, and South Florida Business Journal.
