Zoo Miami Foundation has announced the 13th annual ZooRun.

Benefiting the Zoo Miami Wildlife Conservation Fund, this year’s event will feature a ZooKidsDash, a ZooRun5K, third annual ZooRun10K and virtual versions of both the ZooRun5K and ZooRun10K. The event invites participants to experience Zoo Miami in an engaging and active way while supporting wildlife conservation.

Taking place on Nov. 1, the ZooRun will offer a variety of exciting race options to appeal to all ages and skill levels. The fan-favorite 3.1-mile ZooRun5K will be an open race for both runners and walkers that will span the entire zoo, whereas the ZooKidsDash is specifically for children ages 2-9 ranging from 100 to 400 meters.

The limited edition ZooRun10K will include an exciting extended course, ultra-premium race shirt, and placer medals for the participants in each age category. There are also virtual options available for those who are unable to attend in-person.

“Zoo Miami Foundation is proud to host the 13th ZooRun benefiting the Zoo Miami Wildlife Conservation Fund,” said Jose Romano, president and CEO, Zoo Miami Foundation. “While we invite our community to enjoy the zoo and exercise, this year’s ZooRun will directly impact the more than 75 wildlife conservation programs across 25-plus countries that we support annually.”

All registered participants receive a premium tortoise themed race shirt and discounted Zoo Miami admission for friends and family on race day. Registration prices range from $20 for the Zoo KidsDash during the early bird phase to $70 for the ZooRun10K on race day. At the completion of the race, all participants will receive a themed finisher medal and enjoy a post-race festival with food, beer, music and complimentary admission to Zoo Miami for the day.

The event will take place on-site at Zoo Miami, located at 12400 SW 152 St., Miami, FL 33177. ZooRun10K and 5K participants should plan to arrive by 6:30 a.m., while ZooKidsDash participants and a parent should plan to arrive no later than 7:30 a.m.

Proceeds from ZooRun registrations will benefit the Zoo Miami Wildlife Conservation Fund.

Since 1998 the Zoo Miami Wildlife Conservation fund has promoted efforts toward the conservation of wildlife and natural ecosystems by awarding grants to organizations taking conservation action throughout the world. Now, 27 years later, the fund has grown significantly, supporting more than 75 programs across 25-plus countries while investing nearly $900,000 annually.
