Recently opened Amalia is a Mediterranean-inspired restaurant located inside Lennox Hotels Miami Beach, a hidden oasis and luxury boutique hotel in the heart of Miami Beach’s charming Art Deco district. Helmed by Argentine native Executive Chef Hernan Griccini, Amalia’s menu showcases the clean, healthy dishes that are the stars of Mediterranean cooking. The result? Authentic, memorable dishes that showcase proper technique, smart sourcing and bold flavors.

“We are working very hard to ensure that Amalia captures the true essence of the Mediterranean, while at the same time creating something truly original,” says Griccini. “From the quality of our ingredients to our flavor combinations and design, we really hope to captivate our guests with an unforgettable dining experience.”

Amalia serves as Griccini’s canvas – a place where the rising star chef will artistically meld his classic training with inspirations from his culinary sojourns abroad to create an upscale yet approachable dining experience. With nearly 20 years of industry experience, Griccini has worked in some of the world’s most acclaimed kitchens including Michelin restaurant Nerua Guggenheim Bilbao in Spain, Oviedo Restaurante and Relais & Chateaux in Argentina, as well as Villa Azur and Restaurante Mandolina in Mexico City. Additionally, Griccini oversaw kitchens at renowned resorts in the Dominican Republic and Mexico. He is also one of the founding members of GAJO (Gastronomía Argentina Joven), an alliance of young chefs that aim to elevate Argentinean cuisine through education.

At Amalia, Griccini serves an ever-changing menu that goes beyond typical expectations of Mediterranean cuisine. He focuses on a seasonal, ingredient-driven menu that encompasses the Mediterranean basin, which covers several vastly different geographical areas including Italy, Spain, Morocco and Israel while honoring his roots and culinary training with flavors from Argentina and Peru.
