Afro-Latina visual artist, painter, influencer, and author Reyna Noriega, who has dedicated her life’s work to celebrating women of color, has partnered with Nautilus Sonesta Miami Beach and nAscent Art New York to debut her first-ever full-scope multimedia and multidimensional artwork installation during Miami Art Week 2023. Featuring over 12 never-before-seen pieces, the immersive exhibition explores Noriega’s vibrant heritage and identity as a female Cuban-American Miami native as it intersects with her culture and journey as an artist.

Noriega has been participating in Miami Art Week since 2018. Her first events were with Puma and live painting for online fashion retailer Boohoo. In 2022, she was a featured artist in the Meta House activation and curated her first exhibition with Grand Opening Gallery X appleton featuring artists Pigmalion (PJ Harper), Mia Lee, Tatiana Cardona and more.

“I am excited to once again be participating in Miami Art Week, this time for my first full-scope, multimedia and multidimensional installation,” said Noriega. “The pieces showcased explore my identity as a Miami native as it intersects with my cultural background and artistic journey. It is an interaction between realism and fantasy – a 2D, digitally fabricated world versus reality.”

Co-founded by husband-and-wife duo James and Jennifer Wallace, nAscent New York has decades of experience collaborating with brands and artists, including Virgin Hotels, Toyota, Ben & Jerry’s, Miya Ando, Icy and Sot, Bradley Bowers, Jae Ko and Jacob Hashimoto. The firm also recently won Hospitality Design’s prestigious “Best Custom Art” award for its work with Thompson Hotels Austin.

“We are thrilled to collaborate with Reyna and Nautilus Sonesta for her first interactive exhibition,” said James Wallace, co-founder of nAscent New York. “There’s a reason she has 120,000 followers on

Instagram—she’s amazing, and this exhibit will remind people why,” said Jen Wallace, co-founder of nAscent New York.

“Our collaboration with nAscent New York is one of a series of milestones in the property’s relaunch under the Sonesta brand,” said Javier Marquis, director of sales & marketing at Nautilus Sonesta Miami Beach. “nAscent and Nautilus have a long history of participation in Miami Art Week, and our collaboration with Reyna will be one of the most talked-about ‘hidden gems’ of the week.”

Guests can view the exhibition and meet the artist at the opening cocktail event at the Nautilus Salon and Oceanfront Terrace on Wednesday, December 6, from 7:30-9:30 p.m. The event is free and open to the public; RSVP is required, and space is limited.

A special closing event with the artist will take place on Sunday, December 10, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., featuring a panel and poetry reading at the Nautilus Salon and Backyard. This event is also free and open to the public; RSVP is required, and space is limited.

For those who are unable to attend the opening or closing events, the installation will be on display to the public daily at Nautilus Sonesta Miami Beach, 1825 Collins Ave., from December 5-10 between 9 a.m. and 9 p.m. For more information, visit nautilushotelmiami.com.
