Miami’s Most Recent Dinner Cabaret Experience is Now Open in Little Havana
From the creators of Salvaje Hospitality Group and in partnership with acclaimed Cuban-born Chef Luis Pous, Calle Dragones is now open. Soon to expand to new cities across the world, Calle Dragones is nestled in the heart of Miami’s cultural epicenter, Calle Ocho. Named after an iconic street in the “Chinatown” of Havana, Cuba, Calle Dragones takes guests on a journey through world-class dining, Asian-influenced Cuban cuisine and cabaret performances creating a one-of-a-kind culinary and cultural experience.
“After much success in Bogotá and Cartagena, we are excited to open our third Calle Dragones in the heart of Miami’s most culturally rich and Cuban-influenced street of Calle Ocho in Little Havana,” said Chef Luis Pous, partner and executive chef. “Calle Dragones arouses curiosity through our carefully crafted menu as well as traditions celebrated through our performances. It is a dining experience that guests will never forget.”
The Cuban-Asian menu, which uses local ingredients, is inspired by Chef Pous’ Cuban heritage in an interpretation of modernized and elevated Asian-influenced Cuban cuisine. Chef Pous has been a guest chef at James Beard House in New York City, is the author of The Little Palm Island Cookbook, and has spent over 30 years serving at some of the world’s most renowned hotels and restaurants, including
Little Palm Island in the Florida Keys, George V Hotel in Paris, Dior House, and Asia de Cuba in London, New York and the United Arab Emirates.
Bringing a piece of Cuba with him wherever he goes, Chef Pous reimagines what Cuban-Asian cuisine would have become today if Cuba had been allowed to evolve and fulfill its culinary potential. His extensive menu features signature dishes including; Mojo Roasted Lechón Pekin with Guava Hoisin and Chinese Pancakes, Crab Fricasé with Thai Sofrito, Crispy Wontons and Risotto Congri with Short Rib Vaca Frita. To cap off the immersive experience, guests indulge in desserts such as Pina Colada Pavlova, Cuban Rum Hot Cheesecake with Guava Ice Cream and Chocolate Szechuan with Cookie Crumble. To complement the flavors of the menu, internationally acclaimed and world-class winner Bar Director at Salvaje Group, Borja Goikoetxea curated a selection of craft cocktails including the Guajiro (Mezcal, Mandarin Armagnac, Lemon, Tamarind Syrup), Rostro de Cuba (Gin, Amaretto Disaronno, Lemon, Simple Syrup, Basil Leaves, Coconut Yogurt) and Romeo y Julieta (Turbocharged Vodka with Parsley, Pepper and Lemongrass, Lemon, Ginger Syrup, Ginger Beer, Pickle Cucumber).
Calle Dragones transports guests to Old Havana with its nightly world-class performances and live music, curated by musical director Dayhan Díaz, whose productions have been nominated seven times for the Grammy Awards and who has worked with musicians such as Rey Ruiz, Andrés Cepeda and Amaury Gutiérrez, among others. Designed by Spanish Architect and Interior Designer Ignacio García de Vinuesa, the 166-seat venue spans 4,897 square feet across indoor and outdoor seating areas. Following a Rococo design, special elements of Calle Dragones include custom-made 1950s velvet furniture, red velvet curtains, black dangling crystal chandeliers, a vintage white grand piano as well as terrazzo flooring. Every detail of the restaurant and its cabaret tells a story about Cuba’s cultural heritage.
Nightly programming including Spanish Fiesta on Thursdays, Havana Tropical Nights Fridays, Salsa Disco Fever on Saturdays and World Carnaval Day on Sundays (Brunch), create the ultimate festive atmosphere for locals and visitors alike to enjoy. Calle Dragones serves dinner Monday through Sunday beginning at 6 p.m; Sunday brunch is available from 12 p.m. to 5 p.m, and Happy Hour is Monday–Friday from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Lunch will debut in the coming months.
