Animal Welfare Society (AWSFL) – South Florida’s only non-profit, full service veterinary hospital is holding its annual fundraiser, “Claws for Paws “ honoring Local 10’s Animal Advocate Jacey Birch.
Sunday brunch is a culinary occurrence many look forward to but how many chances does one have to throw back mimosas while raising funds for animals? The Champagne Bunch will be from 11 AM to 2PM on Sunday November 15, 2015 at the South Beach landmark Joe’s Stone Crab. Guests will a delicious unlimited Bloody Mary Bar by Tito’s Vodka and bottomless mimosas by Champagne Delaplaine. Brunch items include Stone Crabs, Fried Chicken, Filet Mignon and Joe’s World Famous Key Lime Pie.
The event will help raise funds for care and medical treatment for South Florida clients who can’t afford veterinary their bills. “We make a difference for the families who have to decide between the rent money or the medical care for their sick or injured pet,” said Animal Welfare President Renee Bleemer. “We rely on the support and love of our friends in the community. Together we save the lives of countless animals. Join us and save a life!”
Honoree Jacey Birch anchors Local 10 WLPG News Mornings and is the animal advocate for Local 10’s investigative team. Animals are near and dear to her heart as she works closely with many rescue groups in South Florida and has helped raise awareness for AWSFL. Birch exclaims, “It is an honor to be recognized as an Animal Advocate for Local 10 by the Animal Welfare Society. I am proud to say I have worked with AWS on showing South Florida some of the amazing turnaround stories that have happened with animals in their care. To have a low-cost clinic making mini-miracles happen here in our town is something I am fortunate to witness and report to all the animal lovers out there.”
For over 42 years they have helped those who cannot speak for themselves and the need for low cost veterinary care is greater now than ever. AWSFL gives over $250,000 in discounted and free care a year, all proceeds from “Claws for Paws “ will go directly to helping the animals.
