COCO: Back to the Beach With A Second Location

COCO : Full Circle

Back to the Beach With A Second Location

Miami native Stacy Goodman Conde moved to South Beach when she was 17 years old.  She and her partner, Cuban born artist, Andres Conde, have seen South Beach go through several cycles.  “We witnessed the depths of the fall, rebirth and steady ascent to what seemed, at the time, the height of all things artistic, fashionable and interesting”, says Ms. Conde.

Like many others, the Condes migrated off the Beach to the mainland, for a time.  They opened an art gallery on Miracle Mile in Coral Gables, Conde Contemporary, or COCO for short, specializing in representational art with a focus on contemporary Cuban art.

While they will maintain their existing gallery in Coral Gables, COCO has come full circle with a return to South Beach.  Conde Contemporary opened their second location earlier this month at 755 Washington Avenue, in the old Versace store.

“We love the location, it just feels right, being here at yet another transitional moment both for the Beach and for our business.  There has always been a level of excitement associated with South Beach.  A feeling that anything can happen.  We’re delighted to be back and we’re bringing fine art with us.”

COCO is currently featuring works by José Bedia, Barbara Hulanicki, Darian Rodriguez Mederos, Ruben Torres Llorca and Andres Conde.

The gallery is open Tuesday through Saturday from 11-7 and Sunday from 12-6.
