Many of you probably know Coconut Grove Bank as being the oldest operating Bank in the tri-county area, started back in 1926. What you might not know is the dynamic changes that have been taking place at the Bank over the last 12 months. The Bank has been quietly undergoing a renaissance in many ways. Long time banking executive Rick Kuci took the position of President and CEO back in 2013 and recently began building a team of top level executives to lead the next chapter of the Bank’s history which spans almost 90 years.
Recently Mr. Kuci has added Don Putnam as Executive Vice President and Chief Lending Officer, Rosary Plana Falero as Executive Vice President and Director of Private and Retail Banking and Michael Cabanas as Executive Vice President and Director of Wealth Management.
These executives bring many years of experience to the Bank and together are leading the institution toward becoming the premier commercial, private banking and wealth management institution in South Florida. “Our efforts to hire the best talent will help us continue our mission of serving the local community by delivering the best service and the best products continuing to be the community bank of choice” comments Mr. Kuci.
One of the newest executives Mrs. Falero outlined her decision to join Coconut Grove Bank. “I was looking to join a team of local owners and executives who are focused on long term growth. The team assembled by Rick along with our enhanced digital banking and cash management services will enable us to compete assertively for business in the marketplace.”
Another very interesting milestone for the Bank will be taking delivery of a new headquarters building in the heart of Coconut Grove. A brand new 30,000 square foot building will soon be under construction on the corner of Bayshore Drive and 27th Avenue. The new building will be built on the parking lot of the current headquarters. The new facility should be completed in late 2016 but the existing building will be available for all matters of business during construction.
Coconut Grove Bank is one of the few community banks that is truly full service. The Bank offers wealth management, trust, lending and banking services to businesses, professionals, entrepreneurs and non-profit organizations. The Bank has five offices including Aventura, Coral Gables, Coconut Grove, Palmetto Bay, and South Miami. With their team, locations and services Coconut Grove Bank is poised for continued success in the South Florida market.
