Festival Introduces a Refreshed Weekend Lineup, Indulgent Treats, and Interactive Experiences

Fairchild Tropical Botanic Garden, the historic botanical garden that is one of the premier conservation and education-based gardens in the world, is welcoming back visitors to celebrate their annual Festival of Chocolate. South Florida’s favorite weekend of sweets and delights is coming back for the fifteenth consecutive year with new vendors and a fresh take on the event, giving visitors a chance to stroll through the lush 83-acre garden and enjoy a weekend of tasty treats and fun activations throughout.

Chocolate lovers will be sure to learn something new through exploring the life cycle of a cacao plant in Fairchild’s very own Rainforest. For many, it may be the first time to see a cacao plant growing firsthand in South Florida. Throughout the day, the community will celebrate the art of chocolate though informative lectures on cooking with the unique ingredient and demonstrations from Miami’s master chefs and chocolatiers.  Did we mention there will also be a cupcakes and cocktails parings throughout the weekend? 

To complete the sweet weekend, the community will be able to explore a savory bites village, the bounty of the gardens and explore unique culinary creations that utilize the star of the show, chocolate! Chocolate Garden is truly the most delicious festival in South Florida.

Fairchild Tropical Botanic Garden

Kids’ Cooking Class: Chocolate Bars!

A gift for grandparents, a sweet idea for holiday treats, or just good old kitchen fun, we’re making Chocolate Bars! Kids and adults will learn how to choose the right kinds of chocolate for arts and crafts, learn about where chocolate comes from, and everyone will have the chance to get creative with decorating their own chocolate bar!

Cooking with Chocolate: Savory Pairings 

Cocoa’s deeply aromatic and deliciously bitter character has been used in cookery for at least 3000 years! In this class, we focus on the savory end of the spectrum, and learn about pairing cocoa with ingredients that work with our individual palates. We’ll make homemade cocoa pasta, and pair it with a selection of notably different kinds of homemade sauces! Limited attendees: 15 – 20.
