The ballroom at the Kimpton Angler’s Hotel came alive for Favela Miami’s Fantasy Orange Gala – “Mental Health Aid to the Most Vulnerable Population.” The sold-out evening brought together community leaders, philanthropists, city officials, and local businesses united by one purpose — to help individuals experiencing homelessness rebuild their lives through mental health support and job reintegration.
Guests enjoyed a five-course dinner and signature beverages generously provided by Santorini by Georgio, who have been long-time supporters of Favela Miami’s mission. The evening was filled with inspiration, compassion, and hope — with guests with optional Halloween ballroom masks to celebrate in true Miami Beach style. 🎭✨
Empowering Through Employment
Favela Miami focuses on workforce reintegration, offering job training, resume building, mental health referrals, housing placement, and long-term support for sheltered and formerly homeless individuals.
“Employment gives people more than income — it restores purpose and dignity,” said Valerie Navarrete, President of Favela Miami. “Our mission is to connect sheltered individuals with employers who are willing to give them that first chance.”
During the Gala, Navarrete encouraged guests to continue their support by introducing her to HR directors, business owners, and community leaders who can open employment opportunities for program participants.
A Community Effort
Thanks to the generosity of guests, sponsors, and volunteers, Favela Miami continues to expand its impact — helping individuals transition from shelters to sustainable employment and independent living.
Favela Miami extends heartfelt gratitude to the City of Miami Beach, Santorini by Georgio, the Angler’s Hotel, all the sponsors – The Spencer Family Giving Fund, El Patio | Habana | La Terraza, Highspitality, Abbott Florist, Miami-Dade Commissioner Micky Steinberg & Majorica 1890 – and every volunteer, donor, and guest whose presence made this event a success.
