John Elizabeth Aleman Gives Back Through Pickleball

Getting your Trinity Audio player ready...

For John Elizabeth Aleman, pickleball is more than a passion.

Her love of the sport has now become an opportunity to give back to the community.

The Jacobs Client Account Manager and former City of Miami Beach Commissioner has launched the Inaugural Star Wormwood Pickleball Invitational to benefit the Miami Beach Fire Department Toy Drive. The event starts at 8:30 a.m. on Sunday, May 21, at the Miami Beach Tennis Center, at 501 72nd St., and runs until a winner is crowned.

The ladies only event has a $100 per person participation fee and has a max of 16 players, who will be playing in teams of 2. Snacks, prizes and bragging rights included. Right now, Aleman has five more spots available.

John Elizabeth plays four times a week and is known for her fierce stance on the court. She loves the camaraderie and laughter shared between friends. That is, until she has to smash the ball at your feet, leaving a mark on the pickleball surface. The best part is that she learned the sport only about six months ago and already feels like she can play with anyone. In fact, she offers to teach newbies their first time out. The more the merrier, right?

If you’ve got a yearning to compete, chat and laugh while getting great exercise, ladies should RSVP today by texting 305-604-4080. Do it today! You will love it.
