Join the Mission to Shanghai

On October 9, 2010, business leaders from Miami Beach along with representatives from the Miami Beach Visitor & Convention Authority and the Greater Miami Convention & Visitors Bureau will join the Miami Beach Chamber of Commerce and embark on a week long delegation visit to the tourist destination and largest center of commerce in eastern China, Shanghai.
Described by many as the “showpiece” of the world’s fastest-growing economy, the purpose and mission of the trip is to help forge business relationships and cultural exchange between Shanghai and Miami Beach and assist in promoting tourism to Greater Miami and the Beaches.
The Miami Beach Chamber, led by President & CEO Jerry Libbin, has been working in partnership with the Shanghai People’s Association for Friendships with Foreign Countries to focus on providing a VIP visit for their guests, which will include VIP tours of the Chinese Pavilion at the Shanghai World Expo, the Port of Shanghai, the Jewish Quarter, Water Town, the Jade Buddha Temple, Yu Gardens, the Shanghai Museum and Government Center, and a river tour on the Bund.  “This is a fantastic opportunity to visit China and the World Expo, while also helping to build the brand of Miami Beach internationally,” said Libbin.
Along with the opportunity to visit these key locations in Shanghai, the Miami Beach Chamber has been able to secure a meeting with American Express owned Travel and Leisure Magazine Shanghai, editor in chief, Mr. Xie Fang Wei, to discuss coverage of Miami Beach in a future edition of the Travel and Leisure China edition.
There are only a few openings left and those interested can contact Valerie Rasken at 305-695-6833 or via email at Valerie@miamibeachchamber.com for more information.
