I want to thank everyone that attended the Chamber’s Annual Meeting at the glamorous W Hotel. People are still buzzing about what a great event it was! From the amazing year in review video created by presenting sponsor BOWA world to the dynamic host Bert Oliva and the delicious food provided by the W – the event was a homerun. I want to thank Miami Beach City Attorney Raul Aguila for swearing me in for two more years as Chamber Chairman as well as swearing in the new Board of Governors and the Pillar Board. I’m excited to announce, we have a new Pillar Board Chair Madeleine Romanello/One Sothebys Int’l Realty and I want to thank the immediate Past Chair DeAnne Connolly Graham/ROI Media Consultants for her service last year. I want to thank Emily Sherman from the W and their new General Manager Rick Ueno for hosting us as well as PSAV for their audio visual support.

The evening’s theme was the power of membership and we really showcased that with Bert having me and Madeleine do an amazing exercise. One of the highlights of the evening, he was able to show the importance of being a united front and trust by having us bend an iron rod facing each other with only our necks. We really are stronger in numbers!

On another note – I want to remind you that we are hosting an important luncheon to celebrate the 25th Anniversary of the Pillar Trustees Program on October 14 at the James Royal Palm from 11 to 1:00 pm. As a past Chair of the Pillar Board, I’m excited to recognize the hard work and service of previous Chairs of the Board who will be in attendance and honored at the event. Serving as Master of Ceremonies will be long time former President and CEO of the Chamber Bruce Singer. The luncheon will also honor the life of past Chairman of the Chamber Leon A. Manne, who recently passed away in December of 2013. Manne was a beloved icon in the Miami Beach Community and notably started the Honoree Lifetime Trustees, which I and my father Barton S. Goldberg are a part of.

If you have any questions, contact the Chamber at 305-674-1300.

Best,
Michael S. Goldberg
