Happy New Year Miami Beach! We made it to 2013 and the sun is shining even brighter on our community. Tourists are converging on Miami Beach from all corners of the Earth. They are residing in our boutique, highly specialized historic hotels, purchasing real estate, shopping in our local retail stores, and dining in our fine restaurants. But most of all, they are here to enjoy our culture! Yes, that’s right, we do have our own unique culture. We have always had it but it has just become bigger, better and the world has figured it out! A mix of the perfect weather, the most beautiful beaches, the greatest restaurants, fabulous shopping, incredible hotels, and non-stop entertainment all surrounded by the arts. It’s everywhere! Beautiful museums, art deco architecture, art-filled galleries, theatre, ballet, symphony— all in walking distance to the sand. What more could anyone ask for? I think I’m due for another Miami Beach stay-cation!
Now that we are in the new year, it’s time to get back into the swing of things at the Chamber. We have some fantastic upcoming events. In addition to our routine monthly networkers, dinners and various meetings, we have our sold out Champions of Business luncheon coming up on the 29th of January, where we will be honoring our very own past chairman Jason Loeb, NBA sports agent David Sugarman and The Forge proprietor Shareef Malnick. In February, we will have our golf tournament which has now become a weekend activity to include a fishing tournament, all supporting our education foundation and our mission to improve and enhance our community.
