Recent reports show that 93% of the 23,000 condos built in the last boom have been sold and the real estate economy, especially in Miami Beach, is on an upward trend. At the Miami Beach Chamber, we have made the Real Estate community a priority by creating the City National Bank Better Beach Awards. The awards celebrate those individuals, and firms alike, that have helped mature this city that we live in, work in , and play in. Through February 28, individuals can submit Better Beach nominations for realtors, architects, developers, designers, philanthropists, and entrepreneurs that are making significant contributions. Please take a moment and think about submitting a nomination for someone you know that deserves recognition for projects in Miami Beach.
Held on Thursday, March 27th at the Loew’s Hotel, the Better Beach Awards boasts to be another sold out event and one of the social gatherings of the year. The community is still buzzing from last year’s event which honored many pillars of the community. People like to mention last year’s “moment” at the ceremony when Saul Gross received the Historic Residential Preservation Award for his efforts in protecting the unique character of the city. The award was named after the late Tony Goldman, a historic preservation visionary who recently passed away. This powerful and emotional moment was just one of the highlights of last year’s event.
I also want to take a moment and applaud the hard work and efforts of the Chamber’s Real Estate Council, which represents all aspects of the industry. The council supports the community by sharing expertise, offering guidance and knowledge, exploring new educational opportunities and facilitating communication within the industry and the city regulatory departments. I want to thank City National Bank for being a great partner and sponsoring this great event for the second year.
It is so important to honor leaders within Miami Beach that are truly making a difference. Again, please take a moment to look at the many nomination categories, listed on www.miamibeachchamber.com.
We live in paradise, we should recognize the people who make it so.
Best Regards,
Michael S. Goldberg
