Miami Beach Chamber 9th Annual City National Bank Better Beach Awards Honors Local Real Estate & Construction Industry Leaders

The Miami Beach Chamber of Commerce (the Chamber) will host its 9th Annual City National Bank Better Beach Awards on Friday, April 21, 2023, at Loews Miami Beach Hotel honoring influential, trendsetting leaders in the local real estate industry. The Chamber recognizes the best in sustainability, interior design, architecture, historic preservation, and activism.

“Miami Beach is synonymous with impeccable design and architecture which contributes to the growth and popularity of our beautiful city. This annual signature event honors those who are at the forefront of the real estate industry, helping to make Miami Beach one of the most desirable places to live” said Jerry Libbin, President & CEO of the Miami Beach Chamber of Commerce. This year, the event’s presenting sponsors include Vision Movies, Gunster, Uptime Technologies and Hotwire.

The event is hosted by the Chamber’s CRED Council, a merger between the Construction & Development Council and the Real Estate Council, which acts as a resource to the members of the Chamber who serve the local real estate community. The council supports its members by sharing expertise, offering guidance and knowledge, exploring new educational opportunities and facilitating communication within the industry and community. The Co-Chairs of the Council are Mark Gemignani (Dominion Builders), Debi Quade (Cervera Real Estate) Mario Stocco (Douglas Elliman) and Jeevan Tillit (East of Collins).

Submissions were accepted by realtors, architects, developers, designers, entrepreneurs and/or projects for their contributions to the enrichment of the Miami Beach community.

The award categories and descriptions are as follows:

  • Historic Preservation
  • Innovative Architecture
  • Innovative Design
  • The Green Award
  • Rising Star Award
  • The Better Beach Award

1.HISTORIC PRESERVATION AWARDS: The nominees must demonstrate that extraordinary preservation and conservatory actions were taken to protect property, objects, landscapes or other artifacts of historical significance to their completed project, while maintaining the same use.

2.INNOVATIVE ARCHITECTURE AWARD: The nominees must demonstrate a unique and unusual twist to the project design. The property should show innovative architectural solutions, while creating striking and functional spaces. The building shall be an outstanding example of functionality, and design in the field of Architecture and take advantage of site and context.

3. INNOVATIVE DESIGN AWARD: The nominees must demonstrate exceptional creativity towards a completed project in Miami Beach either residential or commercial. The Design should be an exemplar vision of innovation and forward-thinking unique to Miami Beach’s identity.

4. THE GREEN AWARD: The nominees have implemented exceptional sustainability practices in a recently completed project or as improvements to an existing project.

5. RISING STARS: Within the first 24 months of their industry career, nominees have taken initiative to immerse themselves into the Real Estate industry and go above and beyond the minimum requirements and excel amongst their peers. Nominees must demonstrate expanding knowledge in the technological, marketing and professional education arenas. The top “Rising Stars” will be honored.

6. THE BETTER BEACH AWARD: The nominees must demonstrate outstanding accomplishments in terms of giving back to our community, city, and those around them. It can be an individual or an organization that has devoted time, resources and effort, and has endeavored and succeeded to make the Miami Beach community a better place.
