The Miami Beach Chamber of Commerce’s (Chamber) held it’s 27th Annual Golf Classic at the Miami Beach Golf Club on Friday, March 24, 2023. Decades–long member Boucher Brothers Management and Bouyah Sports was the Title sponsor for it’s 27th consecutive year. Platinum sponsors included City National Bank, Miami CFO and Dr. Ino Halegua. Attendees were greeted with a delicious breakfast spread from Cortadito as they checked-in and made their way to the putting contest sponsored by Abella Med Spa and 1847 Financial, and driving range practice by World Class Parking. Golfers drove around the course on golf carts sponsored by ALTO and enjoyed fun activations from major sponsors such as SYOTOS LLC, which sponsored the Longest Drive prize, 5 Hours of executive protection service. Warren Henry Auto sponsored the Hole in One prize which was a 2023 Lincoln Navigator. Mango’s Tropical Café hosted their world-famous Mojito Bar experience right on the course, which included music, games and dancing and Raising Canes sponsored their renown freshly squeezed lemonade. The winners received gifts sponsored by AT&T. The tournament included 29 sponsors total contributing to the overall success of the event.

The event benefits the Miami Beach Chamber Education Foundation, an organization that truly gives back to the local community. The event is chaired by Chamber Board member Bruce Gould (Bruce F. Gould Foundation), Chairman of the Miami Beach Chamber Education Foundation.

“The ‘Golf Classic’ is one of our most popular Chamber events because it allows our business community to come together in the name of a great cause,” said Chamber Chairman Aaron Tandy. “Our mission is to support the needs of public education and one way we do this is by donating scholarship funds to graduating seniors of Miami Beach Senior High. It’s a great way to give back.”

This year, the Chamber is raising funds to complete a state-of-the art, commercial kitchen at Miami Beach Senior High for students in the Culinary Arts Program. It will help prepare students for the work force immediately after high school and give them the competitive edge that is needed to obtain a position in the ultra-sophisticated culinary industry that is growing in Miami Beach.

Over the years, proceeds from the golf tournament have also funded over $200,000 worth of programming costs for the International Baccalaureate (IB) program. This program, available at all the public schools in the City of Miami Beach feeder pattern, helps develop the intellectual, personal, emotional and social skills of students from age 3 to 19 and gives them the necessary tools to live, learn and work in a rapidly globalizing world.
