Great things are happening on Lincoln Road, just off Drexel Avenue. The full restoration of Miami Beach’s first church – the Miami Beach Community Church (MBCC) – has been completed, and Sunday Service is in full swing each week in the historic sanctuary at 10:30am.

On Sunday, October 10, 2021, the church will celebrate its 100th birthday, and as always, ALL ARE WELCOME.

“I invite you to join us for a Joyous Celebration of Faith, Worship, Music and Fellowship on Sunday October 10th, and stay around for our afternoon of wonderful music from our chorus, children’s choir and special guests, art, food booths, and of course, birthday cake… all following our Sunday service at noon, on the corner of Drexel Avenue & Lincoln Road”, said Pastor Cynthia Lee.

Pastor Lee is only the 5th pastor in MBCC’s history, and the first woman and person of color to oversee our ministry, various community outreach programs & campus.

Additionally, we will unveil our Centennial Celebration Video Archives – a documentation of the stories, history, and lives of those who have been a part of this churches rich history and are helping shape its future for another century, a passion project led by church member Herb Sosa.

As Miami Beach Community Church approaches our Centennial Celebration, it is our hope and passion to continue to serve our community with renewed energy, vision, faith. The restoration of our Historic Sanctuary, built in 1921 on land donated by Miami Beach Pioneer and visionary, Carl Fisher, is done and ready to serve the community for the next 100 years.

At Miami Beach Community Church, we model the teachings of Jesus Christ through an open-minded ministry of inclusiveness and compassion, committed to faithfulness, service to the community and life-long spiritual development. We live out our faith whether feeding the hungry and homeless or marching in the Gay parade. We help build houses for the poor and help equip the homeless as they transform their lives. We are committed to social justice and believe that God is still-speaking. We welcome all to Christ’s table and uphold the sacraments of Communion and Baptism. People from many denominations and all walks of life are part of our family. We are equals. We are a congregational church, where everyone has a voice and we seek to fulfill God’s will as a community of believers.

We hope you will join us on this journey, on the corner of Drexel Avenue and Lincoln Road, and help us make new memories, friendships and traditions. We are the church of the open door, open mind and open heart – Miami Beach Community Church.
