In the midst of Opening Weekend and in celebration of Miami Marlins All-Star pitcher Sandy Alcantara’s historic 2022 season, in which he was the unanimous winner of the National League Cy Young Award, the City of Miami Beach will declare the area between Lummus Park and Sixth Street as “Sandy’s Beach and unveil a special beachfront sign. The City of Miami Beach Mayor, Dan Gelber, as well as Sandy Alcantara and Miami Marlins President of Business Operations Caroline O’Connor will be in attendance to commemorate the special event. The designation will remain in place until December 2023.
Resulting from the hottest fan section at loanDepot park, Sandy’s Beach presented by Curaçao – which is located on section 22 (in honor of Sandy’s uniform number) – is a South-Florida-centric beach themed fan section, that gives Sandy’s fans up-close access to cheer on their hometown ace just a few feet from the Marlins dugout. Each time Sandy takes the mound for a start at loanDepot park, Marlins fans can swim over to Marlins.com/Sandy to plan their trips to the beach and claim their exclusive Sandy’s Beach t-shirt! The special ticket vouchers are redeemable for home games in which Sandy is the starting pitcher.
