It’s no surprise that Monica Kalpakian’s new store, ETC Miami, has the most gorgeous, unique home accessories and hand-crafted jewelry you could imagine.
The Argentinean-born Kalpakian is one of the chicest women in Miami society and is well-known as an art collector. It’s no wonder her exquisite taste (she was wearing Lanvin beautifully that night) is on display on every shelf in the cozy boutique which is ensconced a few steps off Lincoln Road on Jefferson Avenue.
The selection, which she searched for around the world, features pieces from Airedelsur by Marcelo Lucini, such as tables, trays, picture frames, pitchers, bowls, candlesticks, and cutlery crafted from exotic, fossilized woods, parchment, natural horn, silver, and semi-precious stones, plus fur throws and candles. She also introduced jewelry crafted (for men and women) by up-and-coming European and Argentinean artisans, as well as vintage watches and jewelry from the 1920s, 1950s, and 1960s and silver bracelets, which Kalpakian designed herself.
The opening party, where champagne flowed all night, drew a choice crowd of VIPs which included former U.S. ambassador to Brussels, Paul Cejas and wife Trudy; Barbara Becker; artists Antonia Wright and Ruben Millares; Iran Issa Khan; Susie and Walid Wahab; Dora Puig; Maria & Manuel Millares; Lolo Sudarsky; Susanne Birbragher and Sam Robin.
ETC Miami is sure to become the go-to place for any impressive birthday or hostess gift! Kalpakian’s attention to intricate details includes a silk fabric gift-wrap so you never have to attend a party empty-handed.
ETC Miami is located at 1628 Jefferson Avenue, Miami Beach. Open Tuesday through Sunday from 12:00 pm until 8:00 pm. For more information 305-673-4etc or www.etc-miami.com.
