Powered by Azabu Miami Beach, BUBUSAN is a Delivery and Takeout Concept with Affordable Japanese Classics and Modern Creations

Plan Do See America, the world-renowned Japanese hospitality brand with local concepts such as Azabu Miami Beach, The Den and Lolo’s Surf Cantina, is pleased to announce the addition of BUBUSAN to their culinary portfolio. BUBUSAN is a Japanese takeout and delivery concept that brings some playfulness, flare and a big personality to South Florida. Operating from Azabu Miami Beach’s kitchen, BUBUSAN emerges to the public as the beloved high-end sushi concept’s edgy little brother. Similar to each other in that they both were founded on the principle omotenashi, Japanese hospitality, BUBUSAN plays by a different set of rules and drums to a different beat. The laid-back, casual concept allows Japanese food lovers who are looking for quality ingredients, delicious flavors and interesting options to order their meal at the touch of a button and bring the vibe of BUBUSAN home. BUBUSAN brings funky street art, urban design and music from the chic South of Fifth neighborhood.

“Plan Do See America is pleased to debut BUBUSAN to the same community of sushi-enthusiasts and locals who first opened their arms to Azabu Miami Beach and The Den just three years ago. BUBUSAN will bring whimsical and high quality, but affordable Japanese cuisine to the neighborhood and beyond,” says Mahmood Abousalem, Regional Managing Director, East Coast for Plan Do See America, Inc.

BUBUSAN’s eclectic personality combines traditional Japanese fare and modern creativity while serving approachable world-class cuisine that can be ordered directly to your home. Signature menu items include an 8-inch Magic Pizza on a thin, crispy dough available in three flavors for foodies who are looking to combine the delicious flavors of sushi in a hand-held, tasty treat. The Tuna Magic Pizza with spicy aioli, lemon and scallions is one of the favorites with a classic and fresh taste, the Salmon Magic Pizza with furikake aioli, truffle oil, yuzu juice, red onions and scallions reminds us of a twist on a bagel with lox and the Avocado Magic Pizza with red onions, shiso, yuzu mayo has the perfect balance of creamy toppings on a crunchy crust for both vegetarians and carnivores to enjoy.

Other stand-outs on the menu include six different options of omakase sushi boxes. The omakase boxes range in size, depending on how hungry you are and what you would like to experience. Ranging from $14 to $42, each omakase box is expertly prepared by one of BUBUSAN’s in-house sushi chefs and utilizes only the freshest fish and ingredients. One special omakase box is the ultimate meal for vegans. Curbing sushi cravings while remaining true to the tenants of plant based eaters, this box includes special rolls and dishes that are sure to pack a punch of flavor. Guests who want to shake things up can even play the role of the omakase chef themselves and order from the a la carte menu to create their own box.

Savor Japanese favorites like Onigiri, or Japanese rice balls stuffed with different proteins, available in flavors like Onigiri Smoked Salmon with cream cheese, sushi rice all mixed and crusted with bonito furikake or a Onigiri Vegan with takuan (pickled daikon) and shiso; and much more.

BUBUSAN’s branding was developed by DeepSleep Studio, under the direction of Alex Martinez, Founder and Creative Director. The design pulls from Japanese street art and culture, Indian typography and other Asian art influences but is also not tied down to one specific style. The integration of urban graffiti and eclectic colors throughout each piece of packaging showcases the brand’s playful design identity and personality about being open to all things. By revealing different styles of content as the brand progresses, BUBUSAN displays its nature of inclusiveness.

The technological aspect of the packaging is also an Instagramable moment in itself. Within each omakase box, the team has integrated a virtual reality component to stretch the boundary of art even further and introduce an interactive element that is usually missed in the takeout experience. Each box will include a secret message that can only be unlocked virtually.

The brand is working with local photographers and artists each quarter in order to assemble a gallery of social media content and website images that are unique and individualized but still true to BUBUSAN’s roots. Beginning with Derick G, BUBUSAN’s content will start to take on each photographer’s distinctive look and change as time goes on. BUBUSAN is all about art and originality so the brand is eager to collaborate and give a platform to creatives in the community.

“DeepSleep Studio designed BUBUSAN with the intention of not limiting the culinary and lifestyle concept to any creative boundaries. Everyone brings something uniquely interesting into the world and in the same way, so will our creative partnerships. We can’t wait to work with local artists and embrace their imagination, just like BUBU would,” says Alex Martinez.

With plans to spread delicious food at the touch of a button wherever you go, BUBUSAN will be expanding their South Florida footprint later this year, as well as launching in New York City this spring. BUBUSAN is located at the Stanton South Beach, 161 Ocean Drive, Miami Beach, FL 33139, and is open for pickup and delivery Monday through Sunday from 1 PM to 11 PM. Online delivery can be made via UberEats, GrubHub, Postmates, Doordash, Seamless and Caviar. Walk-in orders for pick-up are available along with pick-up orders made via (786) 672-0535.
