Students at RASG Hebrew Academy in Miami participated in the Boosterthon Fun Run event on November 1. The miles added up as elementary students ran laps to raise money for their school as parents and Boosterthon members cheered them on. Leading up to the Fun Run event, students gathered pledges for each lap they ran and were immersed in a 9-day Boosterthon program that inspired students to live healthy, character-filled lives.
This school year, Boosterthon’s new character theme, Highway USA, taught Heards Ferry students how to make good choices. Each day, students experienced lessons in leadership, character, education, fitness and the importance of a positive attitude. Along the way, students learned from “Highway Heroes”, influential figures of the past whose lives were marked by a single choice that made a positive impact on the world. Highway Heroes included Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., Abraham Lincoln, Thomas Edison, Glenn Cunningham and Amelia Earhart.
“We know that by investing in the next generation, everyone wins,” said Chris Carneal, Boosterthon founder and president. “We want Highway USA to be a life-changing experience for each student. By making this Boosterthon’s most interactive and engaging program to date, we are creating an unforgettable experience for students, while instilling in them powerful life lessons.”
