In the Heart of Miami’s Brickell Neighborhood comes Miami’s Newest Outdoor Community Space
Opening in summer 2019, Miami’s Brickell neighborhood will welcome Riverside, a new riverfront dining destination in the heart of the city. Situated on 5th Street and South Miami Avenue, along the Miami River, Riverside is a 120,000-square-foot indoor and outdoor culinary venue that will transport guests to a boatyard-garden. Riverside is set to create a unique waterfront experience with signature restaurants, grab-and-go local restaurants and bars, a taproom courtesy of Miami River Brewery, and much more, including open event spaces and a beer garden. Riverside will introduce an elevated food and beverage program with two full-service restaurants, AWA, an Asian cuisine concept, in addition to a high-end steakhouse. Guests can also expect fast-casual concepts from local favorites including Le Chick, Old Lisbon and Morgan’s.
“We’re delighted to introduce Riverside to the constantly evolving Miami community,” said Marcelo Goulart, Riverside spokesperson. “In the concrete jungle that is Brickell, we wanted to create a unique oasis that will be anchored with a waterfront view, live entertainment, gastronomy, libations, and special events.”
Upon entering the venue, guests will be greeted by over 120 trees native to Florida, along with new vegetation illuminating the beer garden. The taproom will feature a selection of flagship brews and a rotation of small-batch specialty beers. Miami River Brewery will have a variety of craft beers on tap, including signature and seasonal brews, plus local collaborations. Step into air-conditioned marquees and enjoy quality spirits from the bars while enjoying live television and sports games.
“Riverside’s industrial atmosphere is mixed with the tropical characteristics of present-day Miami, making it Brickell’s most unique and anticipated hotspot. The inspiration taps into Miami’s extensive history, from railroad extension by Henry Flagler and Julia Tuttle to the rise of Miami’s financial district by William Brickell himself,” said Ricardo Cabrera, Miami River Brewery partner.
Riverside will include a waterfront boardwalk that connects to Brickell Avenue, and will also be extending the existing boardwalk along the South Miami Avenue bridge. The walkway will also allow the community to access the river boardwalk from 5th street and will feature art installations by Jeffrey Barone. Patrons will be able to travel to Riverside by boat, car or Miami’s Metromover to match the fast-paced lifestyle of the trend-forward neighborhood.
Riverside will be open daily for lunch and dinner and offer dining experiences featuring menus made with fresh, artisanal ingredients. Riverside will be family-friendly to the public throughout the daytime. Riverside is located at 431 South Miami Ave, Miami, FL 33130. Street parking will be available in the surrounding area.
The Riverside project wants to bring out the best of Brickell and the Miami River, creating an arena where those who work and live in the neighborhood can have a quintessential Miami experience while enjoying magnificent views of the river. The venue will feature six different restaurants, a tap room and café, art installations, and an event area for the community. The Riverside project is about giving Brickell and Downtown an amazing backyard with lots of entertainment options and great musical, artistic and gastronomical experiences. Riverside is located at 5th Street and South Miami Avenue, Miami, FL 33130. For more information, please visit www.riverside.miami.
