At a June 8 ribbon-cutting ceremony at Senor Frog’s, located in an art deco building at 1450 Collins Avenue, Miami Beach Chamber of Commerce Board of Governors Chairman Michael S. Goldberg said the new restaurant “has become the talk of Collins Avenue.” It features a diverse menu ranging from Mexican food to seafood to steaks to pasta and a unique style of interactive entertainment between the guests and staff.

The restaurant is full of colors, lights and sounds, and features outrageous humor in a casual atmosphere. “We are ready to welcome our guests to have a good time with food, drink, contests and karaoke,” said General Manager Dino Valencia. “We feature live music and live DJ’s and also have a retail store with a large selection of logo items. There is no dress code.”

Senor Frog’s has numerous theme nights and specials, including Hospitality Industry Night on Mondays, Taco Tuesday on Tuesdays (all the tacos you can eat for $13.99), Ladies Night on Wednesdays, College Night on Thursdays, International Night on Fridays and Latin Night with a Latin DJ and Latin band on Saturdays. Sunday is “Fun Day” with two-for-one drinks. The restaurant is open from 11 a.m. to 4 a.m. on Fridays and Saturdays, and 11 a.m. to 2 a.m. on other days. Lunch is served from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. and dinner is served from 5 p.m. until midnight.

It also features a “Beat the Clock Happy Hour” from 3 to 6 p.m. daily with well drinks, wine and draft beer for $3 between 3 and 4; $4 between 4 and 5; and $5 between 5 and 6. There is a full bar, featuring tequila and rum-based frozen drinks, as well as a complete variety of alcoholic beverages.

Senor Frog’s was established in Cancun, Mexico, in 1963. Today there are locations throughout Mexico and the Caribbean, as well as in Orlando, Las Vegas and Myrtle Beach. A location in New York’s Times Square will open later this summer.

The restaurants are famous for their dayto- night interactive entertainment, daring contests, conga lines, live music and karaoke. The Senor Frog’s experience encourages spontaneous behavior and provides an atmosphere where guests can expect the unexpected.

The South Beach location seats up to 350 persons, and is available for groups of any size. Valencia, who previously managed the chain’s flagship location in Cancun, will develop special menus to fit any culinary tastes and budgets. Bookings are being taken now for holiday parties.
