From groundbreaking medical research to powerful stories of hope and healing, South Florida PBS’ Health Channel is premiering four new programs this month, each aimed at promoting health and wellness in our communities. These programs offer a unique perspective on some of the most important health issues facing our world today.

Get ready to dive deep into the world of medical research with the brand-new series, Research Detectives, developed in partnership with The Werthheim UF Scripps Institute. Hosted by Trace Dominguez, the show takes viewers on an immersive journey into the scientific process behind finding effective treatments for Dementia and Alzheimer’s Disease. Watch the season premiere, “Finding Lost Memory,” Tuesday, April 18th at 7:30 PM on the Health Channel.

How can you cope when your child is diagnosed with cancer? Discover the power of resilience in the second season of the award-winning series, Hope is HereThe season premiere episode, “Chicken Strong” shares the heartwarming story of the Shoeneck family, who received a shock diagnosis of childhood cancer when their daughter Kenedi was found to have a malignant tumor after an unexpected fall. Viewers will witness the power of love and creativity as The Sing Me a Story Foundation pairs Kenedi and well-known songwriter Kat Perkins to create a happy and memorable tune that delivers hope, strength, and laughter to a family who needed a reason to smile. Be moved by their unwavering positivity on the Health Channel, Tuesday, April 25th at 6:30 PM.

Also, this month, the Health Channel will host two virtual Town Halls focused on critical health issues. With more people working from home and spending increased time on their devices, hand pain has become an increasingly common issue. In Hope & Healing: Treating Hand Pain Town Hall experts will discuss the latest treatments and innovations for hand pain, including carpal tunnel, arthritis, and injuries that can make doing even the simple things impossible. Watch the Town Hall live on the Health Channel, Monday, April 24 at 7 PM.
