On Thursday, September 28, the Florida Justice Association recognized Miami attorney Philip Freidin for his lifetime dedication to the pursuit of justice by awarding him the Perry Nichols Award, which is the highest honor that the FJA bestows.
Phillip Freidin is the founder of Freidin Brown, P.A. and has been practicing law for over 50 years, devoting his life to representing those who have been seriously injured by the wrongful acts of others. Phil has represented plaintiffs in some of the most significant personal injury and medical malpractice cases in Florida’s history and has earned his status as a pillar in the South Florida legal community. As one federal judge wrote, “he is unquestionably among the upper echelons of lawyers in our district.” Phil previously led the FJA as President from 1992 to 1993.
In his speech, Phillip shared “The year I was president of this organization was the greatest year of my professional career. I am really, really touched by this award. Big time. This is really the biggest thrill.”
Perry Nichols pioneered personal injury law, spearheading the Academy of Florida Trial Lawyers, which would later become the Florida Justice Association. In 1977, the Florida Justice Association created the prestigious Perry Nichols Award in his honor to recognize attorneys whose dedication and perseverance has served the cause of justice in Florida. Past recipients include famed trial attorneys J.B. Spence and Christian Searcy, as well as Supreme Court Chief Justice Peggy Quince.
