The Miami-based nonprofit Style Saves announces the 14th annual event at the Miami Beach Convention Center on August 10 & 11

Style Saves has announced the return of its annual Back-To-School event at the Miami Beach Convention Center on Saturday, August 10th and Sunday, August 11th. Now in its 14th year, Style Saves is sourcing donations and volunteers to hit its goal of sending 15,000 students throughout South Florida back to school with necessities for the upcoming school year. At its core, Style Saves is about supporting underprivileged students and their families and community-building. The annual Back-To-School event embodies these values, positively impacting the community.

This year’s theme is Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory, and the Style Saves team will host a fun-filled weekend filled with activities for students and families while ‘shopping’ for new uniforms, sneakers, school supplies, and accessories in a department store-style format.

Funds raised throughout the year, including from the Bazaar For Good annual shopping event, are used to manufacture the Style Saves private label uniform and school supplies line. Students and families are encouraged to attend after signing up for their designated day and time slot, turning an ordinarily uncertain time for families into an unforgettable experience.

“Two years ago, we launched our private label of Style Saves-branded school supplies, backpacks, uniforms, and sneakers, which has been a tremendous success and greatly appreciated by our students and their families. This initiative has allowed us to provide a more consistent experience for the students and families who depend on this vital community event each year,” says Style Saves President, Rachael Russell Saiger.

“We are incredibly thankful to the City of Miami Beach and the team at the Miami Beach Convention Center for their unwavering support in helping us bring this essential event to South Florida families. As we continue to grow and expand annually, our goal remains to extend this crucial community initiative to other cities in need,” says Style Saves Vice President Isabela Rangel Grutman.

The annual event extends its support to various beneficiaries, including children residing in migrant camps, homeless shelters, organizations, and foster care across South Florida.

In addition to the families ‘shopping’ for uniforms and school supplies, the Back-To-School event will offer Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory-themed activities for students and their families, including a petting zoo by Tinez Farms, bounce houses, magicians, balloon animals, activity stations, as well as a 360 Photo Booth, haircuts and styling by IGK, Calla Blow Bar, arts + crafts by The Poppet Project, Little Words Project, slime station by Tiny Artisan Events, Bernie from The Miami Heat, and more to be announced in the coming weeks on the Style Saves Instagram page.

Style Saves would not exist without support from the community, including the City of Miami Beach Police Department and Fire Department, and sponsors including Miami Beach Convention Center, GROOT Hospitality, Sobe Promos, HypeMakerz, Stitch Lab, and Kat Sanz Production.

Food and beverage partners will provide refreshments throughout the weekend for families, students, and volunteers, including Pueblito Viejo, GoPuff, Frito Lay, Pamela Wasabi, DBakers, The Taco Stand, Velvet Tacos, Thierry Isambert Catering, Carrot Express, Essentia Water, Sweet Green, Bubba Ice, and more to be announced in the coming weeks on the Style Saves Instagram page.

Style Saves Back-To-School event will be hosted at the Miami Beach Convention Center – 1901 Convention Center Dr, Miami Beach, FL 33139. Volunteers are needed for:

  • Setup days on Thursday, August 8, & Friday, August 9 from 10 am – 5 pm
  • Event days on Saturday, August 10, & Sunday, August 11 from 10 am – 4 pm
