The City of North Miami Beach and Commissioner Daniela Jean will present the 2nd Annual Night of Excellence to Celebrate Black History Month. The opening reception will take place on Wednesday, February 1, 2023, from 6:00 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. at the Julius Littman Performing Arts Theater (located at 17011 NE 19th Avenue, North Miami Beach, FL 33162).
This year’s Night of Excellence will honor NMB Youth and recognize the 2023 Men in Media Honorees for their outstanding achievements in television. The distinguished honorees include Jim Berry (CBS4 Miami), Jawan Strader (NBC Miami), Willard Shepard (NBC Miami), Ryan Nelson (NBC Miami), Tavares Jones (WSVN 7), Franklin White (WSVN 7), Donovan Campbell, Calvin Hughes (WPLG Local 10), Layron Livingston (WPLG Local 10), Eric Yutzy (WPLG Local 10), Terrel Forney (WPLG Local 10), Joseph Ojo (WPLG Local 10), James Pierre, Patrick Eliancy (Island TV), Carel Pedre, Tony Lesene, Dexter Bridgeman, Russell Motley, and Jesse Coleman of Video Mix TV. During the event, guests will also hear inspirational poems written by the winners of this year’s NMB MLK Poetry Contest. There will also be special performances by the NMB Senior Jazz Ensemble, the Vladimir Issaev School of Classical Ballet, and the New World School of the Arts. The NMB Youth Advisory Board will also be recognized for their work in the community.
