FEATURING 11 NEW ARTISTS AT THE WORLD-FAMOUS OUTDOOR MUSEUM & EXHIBITION BY ARTIST DUO, FAILE

The famed epicenter of Miami’s Wynwood Arts District known worldwide for its groundbreaking, ever-changing collection of curated art — has announced the 2021 theme of “Agents of Change” and the debut of 13 new installations for Miami Art Week 2021.

“Since its inception, the Wynwood Walls has been a canvas created to improve the lives of others. Artists have always been agents of change, whether changing the audience’s perspective through their work, changing an environment, eliciting a courageous conversation, addressing issues in a creative manner, or to simply bring joy to the world around us.” said Jessica Goldman Srebnick, CEO of Goldman Global Arts and curator of the Wynwood Walls.

This year at the Wynwood Walls marks transformation and reflection in a deeply creative way with color, passion and skill. Srebnick has selected a roster of global artists, both up-and-coming and established, to create new murals and sculptures in time for the international art community to descend on Miami. This year’s artist line-up will feature AIKO (Japan), Diogo “Addfuel” Machado (Portugal), Bordalo ii (Portugal), David Flores (United States), Scott Froschauer (United States), Joe Iurato (United States), KAI (United States), Kayla Mahaffey (United States), Mantra (France), Ernesto Maranje (Cuba), Greg Mike (United States), Farid Rueda (Mexico), and for the first time, Wynwood Walls will open one wall to a local artist in an “Open Call” competition.

“There has been no greater disruption to our everyday life than the past 2 years. There has been time to reflect, now it is time to act. Be an Agent of Change. Use your canvas, in whatever its form, to create something that improves the lives of others. Don’t be a spectator, participate in the things you care about.”

said Jessica Goldman, CEO of GGA and curator of the Wynwood Walls. “Since its inception in 2009, our purpose has been to give a voice to creatives and to open people’s eyes to the unexpected. There is so much to enjoy in the Wynwood Walls and we couldn’t be more excited to welcome back the millions of visitors from around the world.”

For its Miami Art Week programming, the Wynwood Walls and Curators’ Goldman Global Arts (GGA) will present two shows at both GGA Galleries in the Wynwood Walls. The GGA Gallery will debut a new group show featuring the fine-art canvas works of new and previous Wynwood Walls artists. The GGA Gallery Annex will host a solo show by artists FAILE. FAILE is a Brooklyn-based artistic collaboration between Patrick McNeil and Patrick Miller. Since its inception in 1999, FAILE has been known for a wide-ranging multimedia practice recognizable for its explorations of duality through a fragmented style of appropriation and collage.

The Wynwood Walls has earned its reputation by elevating the genre of graffiti and street art through curating dynamic, bright and larger-than-life murals and sculptures year-round. Over the years the Wynwood Walls continues to be a place to create, reach, support, include, give hope. With names ranging from those that are highly recognized to newer names on the street art scene, art enthusiasts around the world eagerly await the unveiling of new works during Miami Art Week. Creating a destination through street art, the Wynwood Walls now welcomes over 3 million visitors per year and continues to be owned and operated by Goldman Properties and curated by Jessica Goldman Srebnick CEO and co-founder of Goldman Global Arts. With millions visiting the cultural destination every year, the Wynwood Walls has become one of the most visited art museums in the country in just 12 years.

Citi will return as The Wynwood Walls Art Week Presenting Sponsor, supporting the museum’s programming, public art, and Art Week events.
