GMCVB LAUNCHES NEW INTERNATIONAL WEBSITES AND MOBILE APPLICATIONS Aspart of its international market expansion, the GMCVB recently launched five new global websites in Spanish, Portuguese, French, German and Italian. The new sites feature more than 30,000 words of translated content highlighting Miami and The Beaches neighborhoods, visitor resources and area activities. In addition to having their own web addresses, the new websites can be accessed through the Miami and Beaches website. The GMCVB also announced the newly updated and redesigned free Miami and Beaches iPhone and Android applications. To download the new apps, visit the Apple iTunes Store or Google Play Store and search for “Miami and Beaches.” To access the international websites, visit www.MiamiandBeaches.com and click on the language tab at the top of the home page.

GMCVB’S CONVENTION SALES TEAM SELLS GREATER MIAMI TO ASSOCIATION MANAGEMENT COMPANIES (AMC)

GMCVB’s Convention Sales Team continues its partnership with the Association Management Companies’ Institute (AMCI). AMC’s are the “for-profit” agencies that provide professional management and administrative services to associations. GMCVB’s Sales Team recently participated in AMCI’s Annual Winter Meeting in Tempe, Arizona USA, February 26-28, 2014. More than 100 AMC Owners, CEO’s, Presidents and Senior Meeting Planners gathered to exchange ideas, discuss industry trends and network. Attendees this year included: Association Headquarters International, Association Management Center, Executive Director Inc., Fernley & Fernley, The Sherwood Group, Management Solutions Plus, Talley Management Group, Bostrom, Drohan Management Group, Smith Bucklin Corporation, Executive Administration Inc. and The Harrington Company. Collectively, these companies manage hundreds of associations that represent millions of dollars to the meetings and conventions industry. GMCVB President & CEO William D. MIAMI INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT TO WELCOME NEW NONSTOP SERVICE FROM HELSINKI, FINLAND BY FINNAIR IN DECEMBER

Miami International Airport (MIA) will welcome international carrier Finnair in December with direct service between Finland’s capital city of Helsinki and MIA. The new service will mark MIA’s 16th destination in Europe and the southeastern U.S.’s only non-stop connection from the Nordic country. Finnair will launch two weekly nonstop flights on December 16 utilizing Airbus A340 aircraft. Beginning on January 3, 2015, the Helsinki-Miami service will increase to three weekly flights through March 21, 2015 when seasonal service concludes.
