Center Honors Bruce “Blue Skies” Singer at Private Event

Visit Miami Beach (VMB), operated by the Miami Beach Chamber of Commerce (Chamber), will be opening its doors on Friday, September 29th at its new location (530 17th Street, Miami Beach 33139). A public grand-opening celebration, along with a ribbon cutting, will take place from 9:00 AM to 10:30 AM with City of Miami Beach officials and Miami Beach Chamber of Commerce executives in attendance. Refreshments and a lite breakfast will be served for guests attending this historic event.

The new state-of-the-art center will assist thousands of tourists book their ultimate Miami Beach vacation. At the center or over the phone, concierge specialists will guide guests book tours, special attractions, hotel stays and dining reservations. Each guest will be provided with a dedicated concierge that will help them plan their special Miami Beach experience.

The Miami Beach Visitor Center held a private event for Bruce “Blue Skies” Singer on Tuesday, September 26th at the new VMB location. The private unveiling of the new space was held to recognize Singer for establishing the first Visitor Center on Miami Beach in 1990. The event was attended by dozens of VIPs with entertainment provided by 84 West Events.

Singer served as President and CEO of the Miami Beach Chamber of Commerce from May 1988 to July 2005 and is currently the proprietor of Devonfield Country Inn. He devoted much of his early career in promoting South Beach and the Miami Beach Community as a hotspot destination, which helped attract tourists to the area. Many notable community leaders and past colleagues of Singer were present at the event. Additionally, the center unveiled a plaque and a beautiful custom designed ceiling, courtesy of Dream Ceilings, in memory of his contributions to the Miami Beach tourism and hospitality industry.

Last year, the center temporarily moved from the Miami Beach Convention Center, due to its renovations, to the Chamber’s headquarters. The new location will house the center until the convention center renovations are complete.

VMB receives funding from the Tourist Development Council, the Miami Beach Visitor and Convention Authority, the Greater Miami Convention & Visitors Bureau and the City of Miami Beach. The center works with partners such as Smart Destinations, Miami Double Decker, Big Bus Miami and Gray Line Miami.
