The Vi at Aventura, North Miami Beach Chamber of Commerce and Hallandale Beach Area Chamber of Commerce will join an estimated 1,000 local events to celebrate the Annual National Senior Women’s Health and Fitness Day on September 25, 2013. As an official host site, they will hold a free community health fair at Vi at Aventura located at 19333 West Country Club Drive in Aventura.
On this day, the group will join with an estimated 100,000 seniors across the country expected to help promote active, healthy lifestyles through physical fitness, good nutrition and preventive care. According to Marjorie Aloni, Community Relations Manager for Vi at Aventura, “Our health fair is a wonderful opportunity for seniors to make, renew and revitalize their commitment to live healthier lives through better health and fitness.”
Over 16 vendors will participate in free health screenings for among other things, memory, blood pressure, blood glucose, cholesterol, vein, mouth, skin cancer and pain and balance. In addition there will be speakers from FIU/Jackson, Mt Sinai Medical Center, Hallandale Medical Center, and Donoway Cancer Center. Topics will include Melanoma prevention and treatment, libido in women over 40, new women’s health centers, and a breast cancer update. A free lunch will be offered with required RSVP.
