Free Parking at Alton & Fifth Garage

In an effort to improve access to the businesses along Alton Road and West Avenue during the FDOT construction, the City of Miami Beach launched a new, free trolley transportation service for Alton Road and West Avenue on Monday, February 3, 2014. In attendance at the ribbon cutting ceremony were City of Miami Beach Mayor Philip Levine, City Manager Jimmy Morales and Commissioners Micky Steinberg, Deede Weithorn, Michael Grieco and Joy Malakoff.

The Alton/West Loop trolleys will travel from Fifth Street to Lincoln Road, along Alton Road and West Avenue, with 20 stops along the way, through the end of construction in 2015. The free service will run approximately every 10 minutes from 8 a.m. to midnight, Monday through Sunday.

The trolley has a capacity of 25 passengers and has an external bike rack and free WiFi (coming soon). The trolley service is accessible from several parking facilities along the way. The public is encouraged to park at the Fifth & Alton Garage, where parking will be free for up to four hours with the use of the trolley voucher. Also, a pilot valet parking service will begin soon on 11th Street between Alton Road and West Avenue at $5.00 for up to three hours and $8.00 for up to six hours.
