Ronnie Brown, Dan Carpenter, Channing Crowder along with 30 current players, alumni and cheerleaders hosted the Fins and Kids Publix Shopping Spree at a Publix location in downtown Fort Lauderdale.

“We are fortunate and blessed to be in the situation that we are in because we have the opportunity to help other people,” said Brown. “This is a good way to give back and makes someone else’s holiday memorable. It says a lot of the character of the Dolphins organization and Publix to help people that are less fortunate. Holidays are about giving. I am excited that we are helping the community and making someone’s holiday season more cheerful.”

Members of the Miami Dolphins gave 100 underprivileged children from Miami- Dade and Broward County Public Schools a $100 gift certificate to shop for a Thanksgiving dinner for their loved ones. Current players, cheerleaders and alumni shopped with the children and helped them select the items for their Thanksgiving Dinners. Miami-Dade students were selected from Riverside Elementary, Frederick Douglas Elementary, Toussaint Louverture Elementary School and James H. Bright Elementary School, while Broward students from Bethune Elementary School and North Lauderdale Elementary took part in the evening’s festivities.

“It’s actually one of their favorite events,” said Bill Fauerbach, Vice President of Retail Operations for Publix Supermarkets, Miami Division. “It’s relaxed, they get to eat, they can bring their family and a lot of them brought their spouses and their kids. The cheerleaders are involved, the alumni, so it really brings everybody together.”
