Animal Services and Miami-Dade Public Library System holding annual Blanket Drive

AnimalServices-Blanket-releaseMiami-Dade Animal Services in collaboration with the Miami-Dade County Public Library System, are holding their annual blanket drive for Animal Services shelter pets from now until January 30.

New or gently used clean blankets are needed to help keep shelter pets comfortable and warm in preparation for dropping temperatures and the upcoming winter season. “Dogs are—by nature—den animals and they love to burrow. The blankets collected offer our shelter pets the opportunity to burrow and feel comfortable and secure,” said Miami-Dade Animal Services Chief Veterinarian, Dr. Maria Serrano. “The blankets also help us keep the pets warm during cold spells.”

Donation bins will be available at the Animal Services shelter which is located at 7401 NW 74 ST, Medley, FL 33166, at the Stephen P. Clark Center located at 111 NW 1 ST, Miami, FL 33128 and at participating library locations.
