The online service allows pet owners to purchase and renew dog license tags and report rabies vaccination renewals without having to visit the shelter. Pet owners receive notifications confirming receipt of detailed transactions to include, the receipt of their purchase order and confirmation of shipment, and are notified of any transactions that may be declined. Receipt of licenses tags should occur within 5 to 7 business days of the transaction notification.
License tags are required for all dogs over four months and must be renewed annually in conjunction with the rabies vaccination. Renew your pet’s license tag now from the comfort of your home.

Jan in Texas…..I completely understand. MDAS sent me a Violation Notice to my address in Ocala, FL. I called and pleasantly asked “If my permanent address is in Ocala, isn’t that a pretty good indicator my dogs are with me, also?”
Years prior to that, the day I was closing on my house sale, the title called me and said “You have a lien on your property by MDAS”. They had never notified me of any issues. And, of course, I had all of the paperwork, receipts, tag numbers, etc to prove them wrong……again. Within the past 4 yrs, all 3 of my very elderly dogs had to be euthanized…. all in the first half of each year…… and every following Dec I received a Notice of Violation for not having the 3 vaccinated. Each time I called, I asked “When did M-D start requiring dead dogs to be vaccinated?” Of course, I’m the one that had to contact my vet and have proof forwarded to them each time.
Moved from Miami to Texas w/ our dog. Contacted the tag office and gave them all the information, including our new address nearly 2 years ago. Now they have turned our account over to a collection agency & still believe we live at our old address. Unbelievable inefficiency, as usual.
Agreed with comments above. Something that could easily be done online in 5 minutes now requires to spend all day making a trip to the service centers and waiting in line. It’s the 21st century people!
Really? I need to go? why can’t I pay online my dog have 2 more years to go with the previous vaccination, makes no sense!
By having to go all the way to the County office to renew your pet’s tag, you contribute to the local economy by having since you would need to put gas in your vehicle or hire a taxi or Lyft to take you there. It is your personal economy the one that gets affected.
THE ONLINE RENEWAL REALLY NEEDS TO BE RE-INSTATED. NOW A DAYS EVERYTHING FROM CAR TAGS TO DEPOSITING CHECKS IS DONE VIA THE WORLD WIDE WEB.
A PET RENEWAL SHOULD BE AS CONVENIENT AND ACCESSIBLE.
