More than 1,000 public school students from Miami-Dade County’s District
7 will be returning to class in August with brand-new rulers, thanks to a
donation made in June by University Credit Union. The rulers were
presented to Miami-Dade County School Board Member Lubby Navarro
(District 7) to support her “Backpacks for Students” campaign.

“University Credit Union is honored to support, for the sixth year, the back-
to-school backpack and school supply giveaway. This worthwhile event
brings countless smiles and joy to the students in need of these essential
school supplies,” said Michael J. Welch, Sr., Chief Executive Officer of
University Credit Union.
