Grand Opening will Unveil State-of-the-Art Tech Hub for Miami Youth
Big Brothers Big Sisters Miami (BBBS) is proud to announce the grand opening of the Allen Family Teen Tech Center taking place on Thursday, March 26, 2026 5:30 p.m. – 7:30 p.m. The event marks the debut of a transformative community resource designed to bridge the digital divide and foster the next generation of Miami’s creative and technical talent.

Through a generous donation from the Matt & Lisa Allen Family Foundation, the center provides youth with free, year-round access to cutting-edge technology, professional mentorship, and career-readiness training. Designed to inspire creativity, the space is equipped with state-of-the-art tools including digital drawing tablets, a 3D printer, screen-printing equipment, gaming and creative design computers, a DJ recording and music production studio, VR headsets, and even a flight simulator.
The center is also a member of The Clubhouse Network, a global community of more than 100 high-tech creative learning environments for underserved teens. In partnership with the MIT Media Lab, through this expansive network youth are empowered to explore their interests in STEM while building confidence, creativity, and critical skills for the future.

What to Expect at the Launch Event
Members of the media are invited to join BBBS executives, community leaders, tech innovators, elected officials and the Allen family for an exclusive first look at the facility.
The evening will feature:
- Live Demonstrations: Teens showcasing 3D printing, robotics and graphic design.
- Studio Sessions: State-of-the-art music and video production suites.
- Keynote Remarks: Insights from Gale Nelson on what the center means for the youth, remarks by Matt & Lisa Allen on the center’s support of social and cultural growth in Miami-Dade County and brief comments by Lisa Cook, Executive Director of The Clubhouse Network about the role of MIT’s Media Lab.
