City Manager’s Message

Getting your Trinity Audio player ready...

Dear Residents:

I trust that you are all staying safe as we return to some sense of normalcy just in time for the summer. City Hall is now fully open with staff back in full rotation at all facilities. Our parks and amenities are also now open with programming back up. I encourage you to enjoy responsibly.

For the past two months, we have had some record-breaking Track & Field performances at Ansin Sports Complex. At the Miramar Invitational at Ansin Sports Complex presented by The Ansin Foundation held on Saturday, April 10th, World U20 record-holder, Sha’Carri Richardson produced a stunning 10.72 seconds to win the 100m at this World Athletics Continental Tour Silver meeting. This performance moved her to the 6th on the world all-time list. Her 10.72 seconds is the fastest time ever recorded by someone so young.

On June 5th, at the NACAC (North American, Central American and Caribbean Athletics Association) New Life Invitational, Jamaican sprinter Brianna Williams broke her national U20 record running 10.93 seconds. Also, American sprinter, Trayvon Bromell set his personal best and world-leading time of 9.77 seconds at this event. This made Bromell the 9th man in history to dip under 9.80 seconds for the 100m race. This time also ranks 4th all-time in US history.

These performances generated headlines for Miramar nationally and internationally.

Finally, I am so proud that our beautiful City of Miramar has been named as a 2021 All-America City by the National Civic League. Congrats to all our staff and members of our community who participated in the presentation. We truly are One Miramar!
