On Saturday, May 14th, 2022, the City of Miramar Social Services Department held its First Annual Community Resource Fair with over 40 agencies available to provide resources and information to residents. A Kid Zone, complete with Bounce House, Face Painting, and Sno Cones, was set up for the children to enjoy outside. HIV testing, mammograms, COVID vaccines, and student resources were available to the community for free and without appointments.
Raffles were held for gift cards as residents learned about services available to them from all over Broward County. Among the participating agencies were: Be Strong International, Florida Department of Children and Families, Social Security Administration, Gang Alternative, Miramar Police and Fire Departments, Broward College, Broward County Property Appraiser’s Office, United Way, CareerSource Broward, 211, WIC, Urban League, LegalAid, Covenant House Florida, and many more. We look forward to seeing everyone enjoy themselves next year, as the Community Resource Fair will continue to grow.
