Getting your Trinity Audio player ready...

Hello friends & Neighbors, I am grateful to be able to reach you through this medium once again. Thank you for your continuous support.

Oh, what a night it was as Stephanie Mills blew us away with hit after hit! The Harden Project was the opening act who prepared us for what was to come! It was great to see patrons from all over dance the night away.

The month of June is recognized as Caribbean American Heritage Month, and I had the pleasure of kicking it off with a media launch showcasing our Caribbean Heritage activities for the month with music, entertainment & a little taste of the islands – English, French, Spanish & Dutch.

It was wonderful to host the City of Miramar’s in person Job & Education Fair with top companies such as WSVN, Miramar Police, Amazon, Carnival Cruise and many more! The Job fair was a success with folks who reported that they landed a job on the spot! For information on companies who participated. Please click here.

It was all about the Haitian Culture in the month of May as we celebrated the sights, sounds and tastes of the island nation at the Haitian Cultural Celebration. Three Miramar students were recognized as the winners of the Haitian Flag Day Student Art Contest! Each of their schools received a $400 check for art supplies, donated by our sponsors, Congresswoman Sheila Cherfilus-McCormick and WID the headline act.

Welcome Wawa to Miramar! We had so much fun at this grand opening with their management & staff. On hand were our first responders who faced off in a hoagie making contest…the police prevailed over the fire department to take the trophy, but the Wawa foundation gave $1000 to each of their charities of choice.

The team and I had the opportunity to visit with the NBC 6 & Telemundo general manger and his staff at the TV studio in Miramar to ensure that the Good News of Miramar is told and not just the bad or troubling news stories which tend to make headlines! As always, ‘Putting you first keeps us first!’

Congratulations to the Pre-K graduates from the City of Miramar’s Early Childhood Centers! We are ensuring our young children get a good start to a bright future!

It’s always a pleasure to speak to students about what we do as public officials… thanks Shunda Howard for inviting me to your school’s Career Day at Charles D. Wyche Elementary!

It was a pleasure welcoming new members at the Miramar/Pembroke Pines Chamber of Commerce breakfast! We support our businesses through the Chamber offering new members from Miramar free membership in their first year! Take advantage of this opportunity by calling the Miramar/Pembroke Pines Chamber of Commerce.

Celebrating Mother’s Day with our Miramar Moms at the City of Miramar’s Mother’s Day Par-Tea was a blast! Two venues: In our historic and western neighborhoods! The Par-Tea was well received, and fun had by all… kudos to our Parks and Recreation staff!

I took the time out to meet with members of our Teen Advisory Council before the end of the school year. I love engaging with our youth and appreciate that these students signed up to be part of this council which is so crucial to providing insights to their specific needs!

At the 2022 Alliance Mid-Year Meeting & Luncheon with keynote speaker former Governor, Jeb Bush where he discussed love & unity in light the current climate!

She’s The Change 2022 Annual Leadership Conference took place in Orlando. Prominent leaders such as Mayor Daniella Levine Cava and Congresswoman Val Demings were in attendance along with other political and social leaders. It is truly the year of the woman!

I am honored to be selected as the Government Official of the year from the People Profile Awards. I will continue to devote my time to public service and advocate for the residents and businesses I serve!

Please take a look at my upcoming events!
