Internationally-Renowned Developer, The Related Group, To Build Mixed-Use Community in Miramar Town Center

Plans are currently underway for The Related Group to develop an 8-story, mixed-use building in Miramar Town Center. Comprised of 400 rental apartments and 30,000 square feet of retail, the building will include shops and restaurants on the ground floor and a lobby, lounge and state-of-the-art amenities for the residential tenants. Planned public amenities will feature a plaza with park benches, and elegant landscaping and an art sculpture will enhance the exterior’s grounds. Our relationship with Miramar began in September 2018 when we responded to an RFP and purchased 3.7 acres of land to develop this project,” says Ron Melendez, Vice President of Development. “The City of Miramar staff has been absolutely fantastic. The alignment of our vision in addressing the needs of population growth together, and needs of thriving Fortune 500 companies in Miramar makes it such a positive marriage for all. Pinnacle Communities to Develop Miramar’s First-ever Affordable Housing Rental Community for Seniors

Pinnacle Communities will develop the first-ever, luxury-style senior affordable housing community, Pinnacle at La Cabana, in the City of Miramar. Consisting of approx. 100-120 residences, the community will feature 1- and 2-bedroom apartments for seniors aged 62+. Planned amenities include as a clubhouse with fitness area, cyber-cafe/game room, fitness area, and outdoor recreation area. “We were able to form a true Public/Private Partnership with the City of Miramar,” says Timothy P. Wheat, Regional Vice President for Pinnacle. “The opportunity to apply for these highly-competitive, low-income housing tax credits from the Florida Housing Finance Corporation, induced with a loan commitment from the City of Miramar, proves to us we selected the right City as a partner; one who is willing to go the distance with us to provide a much-needed residential solution for its elderly population.” Rental rates will be income-restricted, based on area median income. “Our search for the right development in the right area at the right time really paid off,” says Anita Taylor, Director of Economic and Business Development. “Miramar has always been proud to say that ‘we care for our residents from ‘rocking chair to rocking chair.’ From birth to their elder years, we want our residents to know that we are here for them, and we hear them. We want to continue to serve and provide based on their needs.”

FCI Residential Corporation Finds a Gem of a Location in Miramar
Construction will soon be underway for a mixed-use development in Miramar. Located across from the Kohl’s shopping plaza (Miramar Square) on Miramar Parkway and Flamingo Road, Miramar Station will be comprised of 648 multi-family residential units and over 26,000 square feet of proposed commercial development. “Miramar Station is truly that, a Station… a stopping place for the community to live, work and play,” says Anita Taylor, Director of Economic and Business Development. “This is a destination where people can truly congregate… to live at one of the 648 residences, to work at one of the retail outlets to come such as already-committed tenants Aldi and Chick-fil-A, and to play at many of the other fine retail, entertainment or restaurant destinations.” Alejandro Arellano, Senior Development Manager of FCI Residential adds, “the success we saw in our other residential communities in Miramar got us excited for this project. Growing up in Miramar, brothers Vivian Caesar and Ashley Blair have always had a passion for working with cars. Both attended Broward College, both participated in the GM Automotive internship program and both graduated with their Associates degree in Automotive Science & Technology. Their passion is what drove them to open their company, Transcend Performance Auto Care in Historic Miramar. Established in 2012, their company specializes in the restoration and performance maintenance of classic cars such as Porsche, Lexus and other high-end luxury automobiles. Last year, the company expanded with the opening of their service facility, providing trade-in inspections for Acura of Pembroke Pines.

“We love what we do and want to share our passion and service with the entire community,” says co-owner Vivian Caesar. “We are fortunate for all we have, and also want to ‘give back’ to others. We work with the interns at Broward College and assist in their training, growth and education to prepare them for their future.
