North Miami Councilwoman Kassandra Timothe, MPA will host a Back to School Experience at Cagni Park

City of North Miami Councilwoman Kassandra Timothe, MPA will host a Back to School Experience for students who are preparing to return to in-person classes. The event will take place on Wednesday, August 18th, from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Cagni Park (located at 13498 NE 8th Ave, North Miami, FL 33161).

Councilwoman Timothe will host the Back to School Experience in partnership with Team of Hope, Extended Hands Inc., and various community partners. This outdoor event will be hosted by DJ Lucky C, radio personality on 99 Jamz, and it will feature live performances by local artists Grimass, Olo Pack, and Y2 King. During the event, North Miami students will receive complimentary backpacks filled with essential school supplies. Students may participate in sports and fitness clinics, receive a free massage by Lumana, and join a yoga and a zumba class. The event will also feature a resource fair, a college fair, an obstacle course bounce house, and face painting. All guests will enjoy music, free food, and giveaways.

In an effort to provide residents with the COVID-19 vaccines, there will be a vaccination

site at Cagni Park during the event. Healthcare workers will administer Pfizer, Moderna and Johnson & Johnson vaccines to residents who wish to get vaccinated.

To support earthquake relief efforts for Haiti, the City of North Miami is currently collecting medical supplies and other donation items. To drop off donations at designated boxes, visit the City Hall lobby or the North Miami Police Department. Backpacks will be distributed on a first come, first served basis.
