North Miami Mayor Philippe Bien-Aime extends his condolences to the family of Haiti’s President Jovenel Moïse and wishes the First Lady Martine Moïse a speedy recovery.
“It saddened me to see the news this morning regarding the assassination of Haiti’s President Jovenel Moïse. I send my condolences and prayers to his family. Haiti has been faced with ongoing civil unrest and political turmoil for the past few months. This violent escalation must be addressed and we must ask for peace in our homeland. Violence won’t erase different views or create change. We must work in a unified way to create real change and condemn these horrific crimes happening in Haiti. North Miami will continue to support the Haitian community through this difficult time” stated Mayor Philippe Bien-Aime.
