Miami-Dade County Commission Vice Chairwoman Audrey Edmonson will hold her annual press conference “One Bullet Kills the Party” on Monday, July 3 at 10 a.m. at Jefferson Reaves, Sr. Park, 3090 NW 50th St., in Miami, to urge the public to refrain from celebratory gunfire on the Fourth of July holiday.

She will be joined by community leaders, members of the clergy, law enforcement officers, and local Brownsville residents.

Vice Chairwoman Edmonson holds a press conference every year shortly before the Fourth of July to ask the public not to engage in celebrating the holiday with gunfire and also uses the opportunity to ask the community for its help in curbing violent crimes. She is usually joined by Miami Mayor Tomás Regalado, who will be out of town during this year’s press conference.
