Commissioner Oliver G. Gilbert, III Successfully Leads Introduction of Recycling Education Curriculum in Miami-Dade Public Schools

Commissioner Oliver G. Gilbert, III sponsored legislation to develop and implement a recycling and waste reduction curriculum for Miami-Dade County Public Schools. This initiative will educate Head Start, Pre-K, Kindergarten, and First Grade students on the importance of sustainability.

“Educating our youngest residents on the importance of waste reduction is an investment in the future of Miami-Dade County,” said Commissioner Gilbert. “This curriculum will equip students with the knowledge and tools to become the stewards of tomorrow, making a positive and lasting impact on our community for years to come.”

With this resolution, Miami-Dade County sets a powerful example for environmental education, ensuring that the county remains a vibrant, sustainable destination for residents and visitors alike.
